A handyman can be a good fit for small repairs, but larger remodels usually need a general contractor. The difference is not only the tools. It is the responsibility for coordinating trades, permits, safety, scheduling, and the overall construction process.
When a handyman may be enough
Small repairs, minor touchups, simple fixture replacement, and basic maintenance may be appropriate for a handyman. These jobs usually do not involve multiple trades, structural work, or city inspections.
When to hire a general contractor
Kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, wall removals, additions, ADUs, electrical upgrades, plumbing changes, and permitted work should be managed by a licensed contractor who understands the full project from start to finish.
Bay Stone Builders manages projects with the right trades, sequencing, and communication so homeowners are not left coordinating everything alone.
